A eulogist at the funeral of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei called for the death of US President Donald Trump on Sunday.
Speaking before prayers over Khamenei’s body, Mohammad Rasouli said: “Why shouldn’t we kill the one who killed my Imam and my Leader?”
“It is a disgrace for us if we do not kill your killer,” he added.
Posters and slogans supporting the idea of killing Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could be seen on the sidelines of the ceremony.
It comes as negotiations continue between Washington and Tehran over ending the Iran war.
During his address to the crowd, Rasouli also urged attendees to chant “death to America” and “death to Israel” and said “Trump’s killing is our duty”.
He was met by applause after asking the crowd: “Why is the most despicable man in the world still alive?”

Reports suggest that the crowd attending Sunday’s funeral ceremony was significantly larger than the one gathered the previous day.
A red flag bearing the phrase “Ya Litharat al-Hussein” (“O Avengers of Hussein”) was raised above the dome of Tehran’s Mosalla during the event. The flag is a symbol of seeking vengeance for the killing of Hussein ibn Ali, the third Imam of Shia Islam. Many participants were also carrying red flags as a symbol of retribution.
Speaking from Mount Rushmore on the eve of America’s 250th anniversary, Trump said the US had “knocked the hell out of Iran” and that Tehran was “dying to settle”.
“They want to settle so badly,” he continued, adding: “We gave him a week off for a funeral because we’re nice”.
In an interview with Axios, Trump said he was keeping an eye on Khameini’s funeral.
“They are all there. One shot [and we can take them all out], but we are not going to do that because then we would have nobody to negotiate with,” Trump told the outlet.
