A name flashes across the screen.
You’ve got a few seconds before it goes to voicemail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your thumb hovers. Answer or decline?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We’ve all been on both sides of that moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I recently heard a quote that really stuck with me:
“Live your life so that when your name shows up on someone’s phone, they want to answer.
Not out of obligation.
But because they want to hear your voice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That’s the goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But here’s the thing:
You can’t control whether people answer.
You can only control what your name means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Think of it like planting seeds. Every conversation is soil.
Every time you show up in someone’s life, you’re dropping something into the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kindness is a seed.
So is respect.
So is showing up when it’s hard, listening when it’s easier to talk, and remembering what matters to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But over time, people learn what grows when you’re around.
They learn whether your name means peace or chaos, life or drain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Colossians 4:6, Paul wrote,
“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Grace first.
Not judgment.
Not what you need from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Grace makes people want to pick up.
And salt makes them remember why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So live today in a way that makes tomorrow\u2019s calls welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because in the end, your voice will either add weight\u2026or lift it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
