Some 90,000 Peruvians packed a stadium in the nation\u2019s capital this weekend to hear a life-changing message from evangelist Franklin Graham, who told the crowd that\u00a0Jesus<\/a>\u00a0is the source of peace and the only way to\u00a0salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esperanza Lima drew 41,000 on Saturday and 48,500 on Sunday at Lima\u2019s National Stadium, a venue that is home to the country\u2019s national soccer team but also a frequent concert site for global artists such as Paul McCartney and Ed Sheeran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This weekend, though, it was a place of worship and proclamation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was an incredible night in the beautiful city of Lima as 48,500 people came out to Esperanza Lima to hear the Gospel. We give God all the glory for the thousands who made the most important decision of their lives tonight\u2014to turn from their sins and put their trust in Jesus\u2026\u00a0pic.twitter.com\/amuvGVvy1T\u2014 Franklin Graham (@Franklin_Graham)\u00a0March 9, 2026<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGod made you. He created you. He loves you \u2013 but our sins separate us from God,\u201d Graham told the crowd through a translator. \u201cJesus Christ came from heaven to this earth to save you. He took your sins to the cross<\/a> and died and shed His blood on a cross for you \u2013 and then He took your sins to the grave. He was buried in the tomb. But on the third day, God raised His Son to life. He’s not dead. He’s alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe’s here in Lima tonight,\u201d Graham added to applause. \u201cHe’s here for you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Graham urged those in attendance to look beyond religion and put their faith in Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Catholic Church cannot save you. Being a Baptist cannot save you. Being a Pentecostal cannot save you,\u201d he said. \u201cThere’s nothing you can do to save yourself. There’s no one who can save you \u2013 only Jesus Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two-night evangelistic event featured music from The Afters, Charity Gayle, Christine D\u2019Clario, and Jahaziel Band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was such a privilege to preach the Gospel in Lima tonight at the National Stadium of Peru. It was packed with 41,000 people and more waiting outside! I told the crowd that I had come to Lima for a reason\u2014and that reason is to share the Truth! Toward the end of Graham\u2019s message each night, thousands of attendees walked to the field, ready to begin a new life. One of them was Oscar Nu\u00f1ez, who said he boarded a bus to the stadium praying to God, \u201cI\u2019m looking for you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI used to drink a lot; I used to sleep around; I lied a lot,\u201d he said, according to a story on the Billy Graham Evangelist Association\u00a0website. \u201cGod\u2019s been working wonderfully in my life. I don\u2019t drink anymore. I have a good life with my wife. I try to be on good terms with my family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He and his wife prayed to receive Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI feel like God has heard all of my prayers,\u201d Karina Nu\u00f1ez said. \u201cI used to think that He didn\u2019t forgive me, but today the message has been clear. [Jesus] is my Savior.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
