It\u2019s been less than a month, and President Donald Trump\u2019s war of choice in Iran has unleashed a cascade of consequences for countless human lives and the\u00a0global\u00a0economy\u00a0that are far from resolved\u2014but he is reportedly getting tired of the illegal war he started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MS NOW\u00a0reported\u00a0on Friday that\u00a0White House\u00a0sources believe that Trump is \u201cgetting a little bored\u201d with the Iran war and \u201cwants to move on\u201d to other initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MS NOW\u2019s report on Trump\u2019s feelings about the war was echoed by The\u00a0Wall Street\u00a0Journal, which on Thursday\u00a0reported\u00a0that the president has told associates that he wants to wrap up the war in the coming weeks and avoid a protracted conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problem, sources told both MS NOW and the Journal, is that there is no simple way to wrap up the conflict given that Iran is continuing to block passage through the Strait of Hormuz, which is sending global energy costs spiking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And while Trump has shown the ability to simply lie about his achievements in the past and have his supporters believe them, one former Trump official told MS NOW that just won\u2019t work if Americans keep paying $4 per gallon of gas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe has learned he can tell the American people his feeling, and, with enough time, the American people will accept his lie,\u201d the official said. \u201cJust telling us the war is won isn\u2019t good enough. We need to see it; we need to feel it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a\u00a0social media\u00a0post, Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) called the president \u201cbeyond despicable\u201d for feeling \u201cbored\u201d after starting a war that has killed thousands of people, created chaos across the Middle East, and raised prices for US consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump\u00a0is now \u2018a little bored\u2019 with his \u2018little excursion\u2019 in Iran, as if war is nothing more than passing amusement to him,\u201d said Beyer. \u201cWar is not a game. It\u2019s not a spectacle. It\u2019s not something you pick up and drop when it stops entertaining you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyer then highlighted the human costs of Trump\u2019s war, which he launched at 4 a.m. on a Saturday morning without any authorization from Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReal people have paid the price of this war,\u201d he\u00a0wrote. \u201cWe\u2019ve already lost 13 Americans killed in action, with many more seriously wounded. Civilians have been killed throughout the Middle East, including the US missile strike that killed more than 150 schoolchildren.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump and allies such as Sen.\u00a0Lindsey Graham\u00a0(R-SC) have\u00a0signaled\u00a0that after the US is finished with Iran, they will next attempt to topple the government of\u00a0Cuba, where the White House has caused a catastrophic fuel shortage in recent weeks with its ramp-up of the blockade that\u2019s been in place for decades. Secretary of State\u00a0Marco Rubio\u00a0said this month that \u201cthe embargo is tied to political change on the island.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The press office of California Gov.\u00a0Gavin Newsom, who is seen as a likely Democratic contender for the presidency in 2028, also blasted the president\u2019s reported boredom with his own war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmerican soldiers are dying,\u201d\u00a0wrote\u00a0Newsom\u2019s office. \u201cAmericans are paying more at the pump.\u00a0Republicans\u00a0are cutting essential services to fund a war no one but Trump and MAGA wanted. And now Trump is bored. Disgusting. Truly unpresidential behavior from our supposed commander-in-chief.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
