It\u2019s also an invitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTrue life begins when we let go of our fear, of our past, and then something new comes,\u201d Arisha says in German as missionary Jake Haskew translates his words into English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not easy to forget past mistakes or \u201cthoughts that won\u2019t go away,\u201d says Arisha, an Iranian Christian who made the dangerous journey from his homeland to Vienna two years ago. Despite conflicts among their nations, the church functions as a multinational, multilingual family \u2014 evidenced as four church members read&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Ephesians%202%3A1-10&amp;version=NIV\">Ephesians 2:1-10<\/a>&nbsp;in their native tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stefan Krassnig, a longtime minister in Vienna, reads in German. Jonah Wilcox, a student in Oklahoma Christian University\u2019s study abroad program, reads in English. Amir, another refugee from Iran, reads in Farsi. But God, because of his great love,&nbsp;<em>\u201cmade us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions \u2026 For we are God\u2019s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the readings, Arisha says, \u201cI think that tells us everything that we need to know.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before taking the bread and the fruit of the vine, the Iranian Christian asks his brothers and sisters to consider a question: \u201cWhen was your beginning? What did it feel like? Or has it begun?
