Actor Tim Allen recently wrapped his quest of reading the entire Bible \u201cword-by-word.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFinished the entire Bible it\u2019s been a 13 month word by word page by page no skimming journey,\u201d Allen\u00a0wrote\u00a0this week on X. \u201cHumbled, enlightened and amazed at what I read and what I learned. I will rest and meditate on so much.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And it appears this won\u2019t be a one-time effort, as Allen\u00a0concluded\u00a0with a pledge to once again embark on the same journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI will begin it again,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Allen has recently been increasingly vocal about his Christian faith journey. He also sat down with fellow comedian Bill Maher for a conversation on Maher\u2019s \u201cClub Random.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \u201cHome Improvement\u201d star had quite a bit to say about the Apostle Paul and the downside of empty philosophy. Watch the discussion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last September, Allen also revealed he has struggled to offer absolution to the drunk driver who killed his father when the performer was just 11 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But Allen was deeply impacted after Erika Kirk, the wife of conservative and Christian commentator Charlie Kirk, stunned the world while standing on stage at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and forgiving the man who allegedly murdered Kirk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOn the cross, our Savior said: \u2018Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.\u2019 That man \u2014 that young man \u2014 I forgive him. I forgive him because it\u2019s what Christ did. And it\u2019s what Charlie would do,\u201d Kirk said. \u201cThe answer to hate is not hate. The answer \u2014 we know from the gospel \u2014 is love. Always love. Love for our enemies. Love for those who persecute us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Allen found these words deeply moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who killed her husband: \u201c\u2019That man\u2026 that young man\u2026 I forgive him\u2019 \u2014 that moment deeply affected me,\u201d Allen wrote on X. \u201cI have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The star continued, \u201cI will say those words now as I type: \u2018I forgive the man who killed my father.\u2019 Peace be with you all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Allen\u2019s dad, Gerald M. Dick, died in November 1964 when his car was struck by a drunk driver, a tragedy that\u00a0deeply impacted\u00a0the actor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As for Allen\u2019s Bible reading, the actor\u00a0began revealing\u00a0that journey last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c[I] finished the Old Testament, and it is such a gift when I get out of the way and the words and meaning flow,\u201d he\u00a0wrote on X\u00a0back in June 2025. \u201cThis week I am now in the book of the Gospel of Paul. A Roman Jew familiar with Plato, Stoicism, and other Greek schools of thought. I am amazed in seven pages!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
