Martin\u00a0discussed\u00a0the corruption and loss of faith among Catholic clergy as well as the\u00a0Third Secret of Fatima, the priest\u00a0predicted that a \u201cfalse pope\u201d would arrive sometime after the death of Pope John Paul II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Malachi Martin 1990 Live Talk - &quot;Crisis in the Catholic Church&quot; VHS Filmed in Detroit, MI 10\/22\/90\" width=\"788\" height=\"591\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/P5hl5JURpkc?start=2&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Fr. Martin said that at the time of his talk, 114 of the 140 voting-eligible cardinals were \u201cliberal.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSo if (John Paul II) is snuffed out, we\u2019re facing \u2026 or we may have to face finally, a false pope,\u201d Fr. Martin said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd&nbsp;he is sparing us that. I think a later generation will look back on Pope Paul John Paul II when he\u2019s canonized and say that we did not know what we had by way of treasure,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fr. Martin acknowledged that there were questions as to whether the papacy was still valid, after he frankly described how the Church is \u201cin shambles\u201d and asserted that it is \u201closing all the battles,\u201d although \u201cwe\u2019ve won the war.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIs he really Pope? Is he really Peter? Is he really the 263rd successor of Peter, the 264th Pope? Or what happened? Has he lost his faith? Why isn\u2019t he doing something about it?\u201d Fr. Martin said, echoing the questions and concerns of Catholics at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fr. Martin boldly claimed that since about the year 1963, the Church hierarchy has been infiltrated by Satan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s doing as much damage as he can. But he has been installed in the structure of the Church formally by Catholic Satanists,\u201d Fr. Martin said. This is the theme of Fr. Martin\u2019s book&nbsp;<em>Windswept House<\/em>, which is a fictionalized account of the&nbsp;enthronement&nbsp;of&nbsp;Lucifer&nbsp;in&nbsp;St. Paul\u2019s Chapel&nbsp;inside Vatican City in 1963. The novel also describes efforts to force a pope to resign, so that a successor may be selected to revolutionize the Church and help establish a New World Order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not even the pope can break the influence of Satan within the Church, Martin said. He went on to share that Pope John Paul II, contrary to common belief, was \u201cbound hand and foot\u201d in almost every respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"lsn-subscribe-title-10\">\u201cThe Holy Father himself is rather helpless \u2026 if he wants to go to the bathroom, literally \u2014 I\u2019m not joking \u2014 two men with sidearms have to accompany him to the bathroom, and wait there. He wears a bulletproof vest. Normally there\u2019s two food tasters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe can\u2019t send a letter,\u201d he continued. \u201cHe can\u2019t write a letter and send it off to Al, Joe, or Patty. He can\u2019t receive a letter. It comes to everybody. He can\u2019t appoint a bishop. He must get five signatures for every bishop,\u201d Fr. Martin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To illustrate his point, the priest shared how in June-July 1989, Pope John Paul II \u201cwrote a letter to all the bishops of the church saying that they had to institute an Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament once a week with prayer, with the rosary and suitable prayers, for two intentions.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These intentions were \u201cfirst of all that Satan would lose his grip on the ministers of the church, priests and, number two, that the Third Secret of Fatima would not be implemented.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHave you heard about that letter? No. Do you know why? When the Pope writes a letter \u2026 it goes to a man called Agostino Casaroli, who\u2019s the Secretary of State, and he provides his recommendations on it and sends it to the apostolic delegate or the nuncio in each country, and he writes his recommendations on it. That\u2019s choke point two. And he sends it to the bishop\u2019s conference, which is choke point number three. And they decide what to do. In this case, they decide to suppress it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSo have you heard about it? No. That\u2019s the Pope\u2019s helplessness. He is not free,\u201d Fr. Martin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pope John Paul II had revealed that he knew the contents of the Third Secret of Fatima during a gathering with Catholics in Fulda, Germany, in 1980, according to Martin, who said he was present at the gathering. The Catholics asked if the pope had read the Third Secret of Fatima, and he admitted that he had read it twice, but would not divulge its contents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He did share that punishments would come to the world that could not be averted by prayer, but that could be mitigated. The pope then took his rosary out of his pocket and told his audience to recite it, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s the only protection you have. Say that every day of your life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former CIA officer Rob Marro recently\u00a0told\u00a0LifeSiteNews Editor-in-Chief John-Henry Westen that Cardinal Augustin Bea, for whom Fr. Martin had worked as secretary, had revealed the Third Secret to Fr. Martin after making him promise not to reveal the full contents\u00a0unless released from the pontifical secret by the pope himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The completeness of the&nbsp;supposed Third Secret issued in 2000 is heavily disputed. While it does not refer to \u201capostasy,\u201d Cardinal Mario Luigi Ciappi, who had read the Third Secret,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/blogs\/what-we-know-of-our-lady-of-fatimas-3rd-secret-appears-to-be-unfolding-in-church-today-priest\/\">stated<\/a>&nbsp;in 1995, \u201cIn the Third Secret, it is predicted, among other things, that the great apostasy in the Church will begin at the top.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Padre Pio also spoke about a \u201cfalse church\u201d and a \u201cgreat apostasy\u201d occurring after 1960 in regard to the Third Secret.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this context, it is possible that Fr. Martin was referring to the Third Secret of Fatima when he predicted a \u201cfalse pope\u201d in 1990.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asked about his thoughts about Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, the founder of the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX), Fr. Martin called him&nbsp;\u201ca blessing to the Church.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe excommunication is a joke,\u201d Fr. Martin asserted. \u201cNo, he\u2019s not excommunicated. You can only excommunicate unless you\u2019ve committed a mortal sin. He hasn\u2019t committed a mortal sin.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey can\u2019t get rid of him. He\u2019s growing and they can\u2019t absorb him. He refuses to be absorbed,\u201d he continued.&nbsp;In 2009,&nbsp;Pope Benedict XVI lifted the excommunications of Archbishop Lefebvre and the SSPX bishops he had consecrated.
